"Master," a voice called out, "the water heater has exploded!" The monk looked at the box, which was covered in soot and smoldering. "It's a sign," he said, his voice calm and steady. "The temple will be safe, but the world is in darkness."
The others were skeptical, but as the fire was extinguished and the water supply restored, the monk's prediction came true. The temple was safe, but the world was indeed facing a time of darkness.
From that day on, the old monk became a legend. People came to the temple to seek his advice, believing that his predictions were accurate. They heard stories of his ability to foresee disasters, heal the sick, and even predict the future.
But how did he do it? The monks tried to learn from him, but no one could understand his methods. He would often laugh and say, "It's not magic, it's something else. It's the way I observe the world."
One day, a young monk asked, "Master, how do you see the future?" The monk smiled and replied, "I don't see the future. I listen to the patterns of the world. I pay attention to the subtle changes, the whispers in the wind, the colors of the sky."
The young monk was amazed. "But how do you know what will happen?" he asked. "There are so many possibilities!"
The monk laughed again. "There are no possibilities. There is only the present. The future is already written, but it hasn't been revealed to us yet."
The young monk thought deeply about this. He realized that the world was full of patterns and connections that we couldn't see. Just like the way a river flows, everything has its own rhythm and direction. And if we pay attention, we can understand the world better.
From that day on, the young monk became known as the one who could see the patterns in the world, understand the hidden connections, and predict the future with accuracy. His stories were passed down through generations, and people still believe in his wisdom.
And so, the old monk continued to live his life, his predictions a legend, his wisdom a treasure. He knew that the world was full of mysteries, and that the true power lay not in predicting the future, but in understanding the present and living in harmony with it.
The end.
